I’m sure that no one from Skull and Bones will actually answer this question so I’ll take a shot.
I didn’t get tapped by any of the secret societies but the list of people who get tapped by Skull and Bones is a poorly kept secret and most of the novelty of secret societies is based on the fact that it’s just secret enough where everyone can speculate what they do but no one really knows. Heck, there is even a publicly available list of famous members: List of Skull and Bones members
So I know a few guys and girls. They are sort of the people you knew for a while were going to be tapped since they really do represent the upper echelons.
From what I understand, all of the secret societies follow a similar formula. Meetings that occur twice a week with your fellow Bonesmen where the members ask very deep and personal questions where they really get to know each other. Imagine a very high class fraternity without the binge drinking and more world politics. The Harvard equivalent would be the senior societies. The Princeton equivalent would be the eating clubs. I heard that the best description is forced bonding with people you would have never met or interacted with but who will become some of your closest friends.
It’s sort of like what they do with the secret society Stone Cutters in the Simpsons. The Simpsons: Stone Cutters Song. They have beer and eat nice food. Plus they emerge very very close friends which is why the network stays incredibly incredibly strong over the years.
